Shop
How did you get here? This page isn’t complete.
No, really. This page isn’t done. There’s going to be a whole thing explaining why I’d prefer you shop on Goimagine than Etsy, but I still have to write it and make it appropriately charming and engaging.
For now, here’s a handy explainer image I made:
Goimagine
- Small business, profits to charity
- Sellers must apply and verify that their products are handmade
- Decisions about changes are made by voting or a board of artisan sellers on the site
- Membership model costs sellers $2.50 – $10 per month for fees of 5% – 3.5%
- I have to raise prices 4% to sell there
Rule of 3
- This looked better with 3 column, so this one is just a bonus
- This isn’t a real marketplace, it’s a bad joke
- Here’s some extra flavor text
- Did you know that ants and bees are actually both a kind of wasp?
- There’s 6500 known mammal species living today, but 22,000 ant species.
Etsy
- Gigantic corporate monopoly, profits to millionaire shareholders
- Open to resellers and artisans, but doesn’t differentiate between them
- Wants to become just like Amazon
- Randomly changes things without telling sellers
- Fees for products under $25 work out to 12%
- I have to raise prices 12% to sell there
Please
consider buying
from verified artisans instead of immediately shopping at
Etsy
(Was that dynamic and engaging enough? I never can tell.)
K. Thx. Bye!
